Looks like a moggie to me but it's hard to tell because there is nothing that gives you an idea of scale.

Vitalstatistix · 14/11/2014 12:44

Although the report does say the tracks have been identified as those of a young tiger, so who knows.

WalkingInMemphis · 14/11/2014 12:45

I disagree that it looks like a cat, it looks far too thick/heavy around the neck IMO.

BertieBotts · 14/11/2014 12:46

It does look pretty heavy around the neck.

If you owned an illegal tiger would you report it missing? I think not...

IrianofWay · 14/11/2014 12:46

To me it looks like a fairly chunky tom cat.

BertieBotts · 14/11/2014 12:49

It could just have its fur puffed up like they do when they're trying to scare something/someone off. But then I think the ears would be pricked.

Joolsy · 14/11/2014 12:50

You cant really tell from the pic one way or the other

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2014 12:53

There have been several witnesses and tracks picked up. Might be a smaller big cat but I don't think it is a domestic cat.

TheGMF · 14/11/2014 12:53

I think if you're going to go about saying you've seen a tiger then the least you can do is get a decent pic of it! Grin

I think the lack of a visible tail makes it look less domestic too.

Domestic cats generally walk with their tails up, big cats not so much.

Petitgrain · 14/11/2014 12:59

That is a cat. She's attention seeking/a fool.

Winterbells · 14/11/2014 12:59

They've decided it is not a tiger but another big cat. I think it's ears are too pointy to be a tiger. Maybe a cougar? Definitely an escaped exotic pet.

BinarySolo · 14/11/2014 13:01

The ears look more rounded like a tiger's. Difficult to tell without an idea of scale but surely the tracks make for compelling evidence.

BinarySolo · 14/11/2014 13:02

Xpost winter! I think the ears are too rounded for a domestic cat!

GoodboyBindleFeatherstone · 14/11/2014 13:05

Looks like my mum's moggy, but they don't live in France. It looks like the same build as a British Blue.

ReggieJones · 14/11/2014 13:05

Very difficult to see, poor lighting and no sense of scale. I did see a tiger in a French Supermarket car park once but it was in a cage and part of a circus Smile

steff13 · 14/11/2014 13:05

I don't know, it's very husky looking for a housecat.

lostinindia · 14/11/2014 13:07

Its a cat.

ThunderAndLightning · 14/11/2014 13:11

I think it is a lynx, weren't they reintroduced to France and Germany? It could have crossed borders. Not to mention illegal hunts that put them there. I also think it's ears aren't rounded enough to be a tiger.

canweseethebunnies · 14/11/2014 13:52

Looks like a cat to me.

bruffin · 14/11/2014 14:05

If you look at a larger picture its more tiger like. The "cat" is actually looking away from the camera and its the back of the head you are looking at.

TheSpottedZebra · 14/11/2014 14:08

It's just like the Essex lion story, and picture isn't it? roar, bruv

And that turned out to be a... cat.

OfaFrenchMind · 14/11/2014 14:09

It's the new Bete du Gevaudan. Obviously. Soon, we will have shepherds dropping like flies.

googoodolly · 14/11/2014 14:09

It's too big for a cat and too thick in the neck. It looks a bit like an Ocelot or one of the smaller "big cats." They've said it's not a domestic moggie anyway, the tracks are too big.

TheSpottedZebra · 14/11/2014 14:11

Ooh supposedly it has crossed a motorway and is 'heading straight for Paris'. But it's no longer a Tiger, it is another big cat.
