To ask you to help with a wedding present idea?

IABU - I apologise for that but I really need the help of mumsnet.

I need a present idea that would be great fully received, but is cheap (£10-£15) and easy to post.

We aren't attending the wedding due to it being on a Wednesday and we couldn't get time off work.

In the invitation was the usual poem asking for money towards their honeymoon but I am really against this and not only that, £10 in a card doesn't look great.

Please please can anyone come up with a better idea that mine ( a vase that will probably arrived smashed)

Have they decided where they are going for the honeymoon and are just raising money for it? If so a guide book and photo album?

FamiliesShareGerms · 29/10/2014 21:42

Photo frame?

LocalVelvet · 29/10/2014 21:43

Try not on the high street

NinjaPanda34 · 29/10/2014 21:43

A jessops voucher so they can get photos printed?

MaelstromOfLunacy · 29/10/2014 21:50

Bit more than you said but we got one for my bil and sil and they LOVED it!

A little more than your budget, but perhaps a digital photo frame?

WalkingInMemphis · 29/10/2014 21:52

I would steer clear of photo albums and frames...we got so many when we Wed, it's such a default gift you'll probably be one of many.

If I were you I'd go on Ebay and get them a personalised keepsake with names and dates - there's loads to choose from for less than £15 - love spoons, canvasses etc. Some are really nice.

One of my favourite wedding gifts was a small canvas with our names and dates, probably not expensive bit I was touched they'd gone to the effort.

currency for a bottle/glass of fizz / cocktail in the place they have their honeymoon in a pretty card?

hollyisalovelyname · 29/10/2014 22:02

Maelstrom that's a lovely idea for a gift.

Princesspond · 29/10/2014 22:13

I've linked to these before, a friend had them and I thought they were really sweet. The little poem only makes sense when the mugs are together.JL used to stock them but I can't see them there now.
