To send my new bathroom scales back?

I ruined the old ones weighing heavy suitcases so have decided to splash out on a swanky new set; clear glass, large electronic display etc. I ceremonially dumped the old ones in the bin & hopped on.
11st11lb, that can't be right. Salter must be wrong?
They can go back with the size 12 jeans that shrank in the wardrobe.

Definitely a manufacturing error. Seems to be common with scales, mine are the same - having the cheek to suggest I've gained 2.5st so far at 33 weeks pregnant Hmm as if. I'd have sent them back too if they weren't at the bottom of my wheelie bin.

GallbladderFairy · 28/10/2014 18:25

I sent mine back for the same reason! Blasted things. Just can't get quality these days! Grin Wink

Yanbu. My scales have been malfunctioning ever since I had dd Grin

KingJoffreysBloodshotEye · 28/10/2014 18:26

Absolutely.

I can see from here that you're not an ounce over ten stone.

How dare they sell you malfunctioning tat.

Livid on your behalf.

ShesAnEasyWuffer · 28/10/2014 18:27

Hmmm naice. Maybe my scales were broken before I had dd - they told me that I'd put on over 4 stone by 33 weeks.... Confused Grin

SaucyJackOLantern · 28/10/2014 18:29

You can borrow mine if you like?

I managed to lose 5lbs the other day by moving the scales from one end if the bathroom to the other.

Truelymadlysleepy · 28/10/2014 18:31

Thank you all, I knew I wasn't wrong. King, quite right, maybe just an ounce over.
You've heard of vanity sizing, I'm going to develop scales with vanity weighing. Grin

I'd buy them!

ArabellaTarantella · 28/10/2014 18:32

Well my Salter ones say 13st - I have shaken them, re-set them and jumped on them. They MUST be broken, surely?

OwlWearingSunglasses · 28/10/2014 19:17

Take your glasses off before you look at the reading. You can then visualise the numbers without having to see them.

Works for me. Grin

Truelymadlysleepy · 28/10/2014 19:27

I use that trick for wrinkle inspection Owl, I see Cameron Diaz peering back at me Wink

I bet you got them from the same shop I got those jeans that shrunk over the course of dinner one night...
