Any ideas what these songs might be?

This morning DS asked if I'd sing him a song.
"What song would you like, son?"
"The one where the bad guys get on the plane and flies chase them back off or the one where the skeleton goes for a shower"

He was most disappointed that I didn't know either of them and apparently 'The wheels on the bus' just doesn't cut it anymore :)

Any ideas what these songs could be?

Have you older DC with a fondness for emo or death metal? Or does your DS go to a nursery or some place where an imaginative teacher/play leader might have adapted popular songs with a halloween theme?

Because TBH I'm as boggled as you...

TiggyD · 24/10/2014 12:27

He's on drugs.

kinkyfuckery · 24/10/2014 12:30

Is he on glue?

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/10/2014 12:47

Oh God, he's only 4. I thought I had years before death metal. We've only got Pritstick, Kinky. I'm going to have to save up for a psychologist, aren't I?

Lol, sounds like he wrote them himself. Wee genius you've got there!

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/10/2014 12:52

That's a very lovely way to put it, Sophia Grin

Hotel Transylvania?

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/10/2014 13:02

The film? That's a great idea. I'll check it out

4 is an age where they make up their own songs, but there's also TV and cartoons.

NotActuallyAMum · 24/10/2014 13:16

There has to be a logical explanation to these, I'm going to put my thinking hat on...

I once heard of someone's child wanting "the esso man" song, after much deliberation his Mum asked him to start singing and she would join in, so off he goes:

Esso Maaaaan, he played one, he played knick knack on my thumb....

MaidOfStars · 24/10/2014 15:44

The one where the bad guys get on the plane and flies chase them back off

The "flies" part has to be the verb, not the noun?

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/10/2014 17:10

I think he meant flies as in the insect, but really who knows :)

Notactuallyamum that made me giggle out loud on the train Smile

Deedeecupcake · 24/10/2014 17:38

Does he mean that's what happens in the music videos?

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/10/2014 20:45

Deedee, we hardly ever watch them, I'm a proper old fart.
I did get him to sing them to me but they both sounded exactly the same and like nothing I had ever heard before, sadly he takes his singing voice from me and we both sound like singing dogs.

Hmmm, definitely some lateral thinking needed... Not my strong point.

DD once asked me to sing "the one about Scottish money"....

(By yon bonnie banks....)

GoryellaItsaSpoonerismGeddit · 24/10/2014 21:01

Leavin on a jet plane?
Shoo fly don't follow me?
A combination of the two?

DS asks me constantly for the "dead song". Still have no idea Confused

Annunziata · 24/10/2014 21:04

Is the first one the one from the Lego Movie and is the second Halloween is Coming?

Halloween is coming, halloween is coming, skeletons will be after you and then it goes oooooooooo?

Anniegetyourgun · 24/10/2014 21:07

I remember at a similar age asking my mother to sing "the Dayo song" and she disappointed me hugely by singing "Gloria In Excelsis Deo". No no, I said, the Dayo song, but she just didn't get it. It must have been about a week later that the Banana Boat Song came on the radio and I was able to explain what I wanted. (She still didn't sing it though. Angry )

He's not long after telling me he's a windsurfing expert - he's been in the sea once for a paddle :)
I think he might just be flexing his imagination.
