To think this is petty for grown women?

I know a couple of women who were gossiping about another woman saying she is pushy for her child and wants to include her child in everything and how tiresome that is. The two women went on to moan saying that this friend always wants to hang out with them but that their children have a 'special friendship' and don't always want to include this third child. I know this other woman too and think she seems very nice and her child is delightful. AIBU to think this is rather pathetic of grown women to talk in these terms, the children are all 7 years old. It has put me off these two women because of course I wonder who else they put down.

Ofcourse yanbu! It's amazing how some people never grow up and start living vicariously through their children. Pathetic really!
