i have 4 orginal Enid blyton books. I love them. They was passed down to me. I have read them to me by my grandmother due to the fact I love reading.

I don't care how much they are worth, I even love the smell of the books

To not sell my books.

Who says you should, and why?

Solo · 19/10/2014 03:37

Do not sell them, YANBU!!

steff13 · 19/10/2014 03:38

Is someone trying to make you sell them?

ChippingInLatteLover · 19/10/2014 03:38

Nope, YANBU - well worth keeping for sentimental reasons - unless of course you are going without essentials - then it would be worth considering - after you have exhausted every other option.

A friend said I would get a very good price that could buy a therapist service.

I treasure these books.

I think the sadness you would feel would outweigh the benefit of a few sessions with a therapist. I suppose if it was enough to pay for a years worth of treatment I'd probably consider it.

OldLadyKnowsSomething · 19/10/2014 03:41

Do you feel you would benefit from a therapist? What kind of therapist?

MyGastIsFlabbered · 19/10/2014 03:45

Surely these books are therapy in themselves? If you love & treasure them, that's far more valuable than a therapist. Tell your 'friend' to take a hike (confirmed bibliophile here!).

I am suffering with MH problem but I rather sell my iPad and iPhone before these books

I also suffer from MH problems (I think I posted on one of your previous threads) but there are lots of things I'd sell before (theoretical) precious books. Only you know how much they mean to you vs. how much you need therapy. I've got a ring my grandma gave me, I've no idea if it's worth anything or not because I'd never, ever sell it (maybe if my kids were literally starving but that's about the only reason).
