To have a glass of wine

I'm cooking a red wine stew, and the bottle has been opened since around 9.

It's been slowly cooking all day.

Really could do with a small glass, but would you say it's too early

If the pubs are open it's okay by me! But do you have to drive later??? If not enjoy your treat!

hellsbellsmelons · 17/10/2014 13:05

No way.
It's a Friday afternoon and it's open.
Would be rude not to TBH!

As my facebook status said a few weeks ago:-
If being drunk before 3pm on a Friday is wrong, I never want to be right

TattyDevine · 17/10/2014 13:05

If you just want one glass, and don't have drive-somewhere issues why not? If you were out with a friend having lunch it wouldn't be weird.

Someone will be along to say how its a slippery slope etc but like most things its only a problem if its a problem - so its not the one glass of wine in the middle of the day that is actually a problem, its the social weirdness, what it might mean etc, if it doesn't mean anything then have it I'd say.

As long as you don't have to drive anywhere anytime soon, then YA absolutely NBU.

If I wasn't at work, I'd be tucking into a vodka and tonic right about now Grin

There are lots of people having a drink with their lunch in my pub. It's Friday, it's fine, have a glass!

TattyDevine · 17/10/2014 13:06

Enjoy but make sure you have food as well as wine lunchtime makes you more drunk. (Remembers boss buying me a one glass at lunchtime once and i was legless rest of day. She protected me that day giving me simple things to do and taking me home early. She is the best boss ever and a fb friend now 15 years later)
