AIBU to hide some shower gel from DH?

EVERY time DH goes shopping he will come home with at least 2, if not 3, new bottles of shower gel. We currently have... SEVEN bottles of open in use shower gel all at varying stages ranging from dregs if you can't get any more out put the bottle in the bin you lazy sod to nearly full.

AIBU to hide any new bottles I see brought into the house until current bottles are used up? DH says he likes to have a choice of "flavours" every day!

Look on the bright side- 1. You don't have to worry about him using it all up and there being none left for you (like my DH who uses all of my bubble bath AND my deodorant so he smells like a girl). 2. He doesn't stink like a barnyard animal! Just straight up tell him no more shower gel until he uses what he's got already.

YANBU. I like a choice but usually only have 2 bubbke bath and 3 shower gel on the go!

This sounds like my DH's obsession with soap. he doesn't like shower gel but loves different types of soap. How many men get excited when their wife buys stuff from lush for him as a present? he always has at least three on the go and has a pile of containers for them. He is not allowed buy anyone until he finished what is there - which will take a couple of years......

YANBU btw.

YANBU. This is a pet hate of mine. We currently have about 4 bottles of kitchen cleaner, six tubes of toothpaste and about a million tubs of hair wax open in my house thanks to DH who always has a stockpile of hundreds that he buys on offer. Drives me mad - I tend to hide/combine bottles to get things used. Otherwise you never get rid of anything!

On a similar note, AIBU to throw away half-open bottles of stuff that my housemate has littered around the bath, if she has not touched them in 6 months?

She has, and I do not joke, about 40 bottles of various things around the bath. And has just bought new shampoo/conditioner.
(she use two corners of the bath and three layers of a 4-layer basket-type thing)

Least you'll never get in the bath or shower get your self wet and reach over to grab a bottle only to realise its empty #1stworldproblems

mrsHawk1ns · 16/10/2014 22:33

I do admit it is very first world problem ish! But I'm feeling very ragey today so he's copped it.

I am going to take great delight in hiding all the full ones and making him use up the dregs, childish I know!

Equally #1stworldproblem ish is that we have separate shower washes as he chooses ones with bits in & that are "minty fresh" have you ever used those on your bits?! Shock Wink what a wake up call! LOL

She also keeps things in the kitchen drawers that are supposed to be disposable -- you are SUPPOSED to throw them away.

And never even uses them. Just clogs up the drawers.

bigbluestars · 16/10/2014 22:46

Consolidate them.

Pour as many of the half empty ones into the same bottle and give them a shake. He won't notice. I refill expensive shower gel ones with value bubble bath - it's never noticed.

maras2 · 16/10/2014 23:37

I have to do this with toothpaste as he will open every sodding one.God knows why he is so normal usually.Confused
