To want to buy a loo with a good enough flush

My DS always does massive pops which take at least a day to flush through! We have built an extension with new bathroom and need to buy a loo. Ideally I'd like one with enough flush to get rid of the ablutions! Any recommendations please?

Can't help with toilet recommendation, but I'm very pleased to see that I'm not the only long suffering parent whose son manages to create super sized turds.

Feeling your pain OP. We have Eco friendly loos in our newbuild and they just don't flush enough water. I feel I am using loads more product down the loo, just to keep it clean than I did in our last house. That can't be very Eco friendly can it?

magimedi · 15/10/2014 20:34

Oh, bring back the days when the water tank was at ceiling level & called "The Thunderer".

(as in MIL's house, some 30 years ago).

Nothing was ever left in the bowl!

DiaDuit · 15/10/2014 20:43

You do know you can adjust the flush level inside the cistern dont you? Sorry if you've already tried that. Nu at all to wants a strong flush.

OwlWearingSunglasses · 15/10/2014 20:55

You are not alone. One person in this house can regularly produce a turd that is both below and above the water line at the same time. Our toilet just can't deal with it without extra water pouring in while flushing.

Eco setting? Need a bloody TURBO setting instead.

My DS also does monstrously large poos that won't flush. Like, ones that should be produced by King Kong, not a skinny 12yo. You need a large bucket for pouring huge amounts of water down with force, it's the only thing that clears them.

FoxgloveFairy · 15/10/2014 21:02

Testify sisters! We are also cursed with the pathetic loo flush down under. I think it's just the way they are these days. And don't get me started on showers that deliver little more than steam! I want a shower, not a damn sauna! ( snaps fairy wand in tanty, exit stage left!)

QueenOfThorns · 15/10/2014 21:06

Owl, shouldn't that be TURD-BO? Grin

But there must be a loo with a decent flush. The boy is only 8 and thry are HUGE!!!

We have a dual flush toilet, it uses less water for a #1 flush and more for a #2 flush. Works great!

I didn't realize "loo" meant the toilet itself, I though it meant bathroom. I learns something on here all the time. :)

Are all these kids with giant poos getting enough fiber?

steff13 · 15/10/2014 21:52

I ask about the fiber, because I have a friend whose son was the same, and the doctor recommended a fiber supplement, and it helped with the issue. He takes one of those chewable Metamucil wafers every day.
