because THERE IS NO FAT IN COKE! Imagine if there was, it'd all congeal at the top. Urgh.

"Proper Coke" here. I can only drink proper red label Coke. Any thing else gives me a splitting headache, and Pepsi just tastes like ditch water carbonated with flatulence.

I've heard quite a lot of people say "full fat". It's so irritating because it's misleading.

RubberBulletKisses · 15/10/2014 19:43

I'm skinny, and If I just ask for coke then I automatically get given diet, which is the Devil's own drink Angry

misses point of thread

Sallystyle · 15/10/2014 19:49

Yes Spring, obviously some people can't handle it like some people can't handle caffeine or tomatoes.

It is a myth that it causes brain tumours and cancer etc

helenenemo · 15/10/2014 19:56

I always say full fat coke. Didn't think anyone would be daft enough to think others really think there is fat in coke.. It's just a saying!

Slurpling · 15/10/2014 20:16

"Fat coke" is borderline but acceptable. You can have that one as I am prepared to accept it as a contraction of "Coke that will make you fat".

Calling it "full fat" is still beyond the pale imo. Wink Unless it also comes in a plastic carton with a blue lid.

I call it 'Fat Coke' because it's not masquerading as a healthy option like it's evil, foul tasting cousin Diet Coke. It's out and proud, a sugary, calorific drink that will make you fat.

Best hangover cure known to man.

Slurpling · 15/10/2014 20:21

Diet Coke should be renamed "Foul-tasting approximation of real Coke" imo.

Not sure how to expand that for caffeine free diet coke which is truly an abomination.

What the heck is 'green Coke'? Confused
And yes, caffeine-free skinny Coke is a joke. At that point, just have soda water.

ouryve · 15/10/2014 23:00

It's definitely full fat. Just like coffee that isn't decaff is full fat.

sleepdodger · 15/10/2014 23:29

Red coke

ThisFenceIsComfy · 15/10/2014 23:32

I think Pepsi is much nicer than Coke

TeamScotland · 15/10/2014 23:35

Just drink Irn Bru everyone and forget about the cunting coke Grin

Behoove · 15/10/2014 23:40

Cannot abide that orange poison.

Has anyone tried the new 'healthier' green coke then?

Ihavemyownname · 15/10/2014 23:41

Green coke is coke life. It's a bit like diet coke but with natural sugars stevia If I remember right. So more calories than diet but still a lot Less than normal coke and no artificial sweeteners

TyneTeas · 16/10/2014 00:04

We often play is that accurate or pedantic in our house

(I have never yet admitted to being pedantic but have occasionally conceded I may be being assertively accurate...)

ChickenMe · 16/10/2014 00:22

Green Coke tastes ok actually.

I assumed it was called full fat coke as in full fat milk. I see full fat milk as "proper" milk and the other milks as "depressing/inadequate". Eunuch milks would be a good way of putting it. FF Coke is to diet coke as butter is to margarine.

Diet coke annoys me as do diet sodas. All the over weight people I know drink diet soda and a lot of it. People I know who drink full fat drinks consume fewer and are slimmer. I don't know anyone slim/fit
who drinks diet APART from OH. He was brought up on it from childhood Sad.

Btw Diet Coke is marketed at women, Coke Zero at men..who is the target audience for red coke?

Sorry for being OT just thinking out loud...

wobblyweebles · 16/10/2014 02:10

I dont need to read the internet to know that aspartame makes me feel very ill. It isnt a myth for me, and I avoid all products that contain any artificial sweetener

I don't need to read the internet to know that apples and hazelnuts make me feel very ill...

wobblyweebles · 16/10/2014 02:11

I don't know anyone slim/fit who drinks diet APART from OH

I am slim, fit, and drink DC. Also wine.

Surfsup1 · 16/10/2014 02:55

Of course it's full fat! Same as 4 star petrol used to be full fat.

Socially there isn't even any stars in the petrol!! Not even one let alone 4!!

giraffescantboogie · 16/10/2014 05:19

Never considered this....

guaranteedpersonality · 16/10/2014 05:41

YASooooNU. I loathe the phrase, it is like nails on a chalkboard.

ArsenicChaseScream · 16/10/2014 06:05

YA definitely completely NBU

NewtRipley · 16/10/2014 06:16

Doesn't me. I have always thought people who use the phrase are fully aware there is no fat in coke. It's just a play on words.

NewtRipley · 16/10/2014 06:17

And what helen said

millionsofpeaches · 16/10/2014 07:30

I thought of this yesterday when I was trying to teach year 8 about food groups and some of them were insistent that coke contained fat Hmm Would otherwise believe me that there is no fat in coke. (Also don't get me started on the two girls who were quite rude when I tried to point out that gelatin is a protein not fat. No its pork fat miss complete with eye roll! Maybe it's because I'm a supply teacher so not to be trusted!)
