To be cross with Claire's accessories?

So on Monday I went into Claire's and bought 9 tutus and 3 sets of earrings. Spent £82! Tutus are for my daughters karaoke birthday party. When I got home I discovered they had not put the earrings into the huge bag. I went back the next day but the sales assistant who helped me was off. Went back again today , paid for parking etc again, to be told that she had definitely put the earrings into my bag. So basically it was her word against mine. So now I am out of pocket by £20 and really annoyed.

Just needed a rant and a warning to check your bags before you leave the shop!

Complain to Head Office! This sort of thing happens on an embarrassingly regular basis where I work because it's such a fast paced store, and most our staff are straight out of school and a bit careless tbh! We never question the customer (unless the item is a high price one in which case we'd have a check on CCTV) and always give a replacement and apology! (Provided they can show a reciept)
I'm surprised at Claire's basically calling you, the customer, a liar, bad form!

Faez · 09/10/2014 20:57

Lack of a little sense has lost them a customer, definitely should've just given you another set.

I went to the post office to get change for the shop today, I usually just dump the change in the till but today I counted it and it was a tenner down! Makes me wonder how many times it's happened, times I've thought I made a mistake and bumped up the till float myself!!

I did say on the first visit back that basically they were calling me a liar. I am obviously a middle aged, grey haired woman who does not need to steal earrings from Claire's accessories! Just so annoyed at being ripped off!

Definitely complain, I think someone will be getting a disciplinary!

PinkPolkaDotPurple · 09/10/2014 21:12

I'd kick up a fuss on their facebook and/or twitter pages, and write a letter to head office.

Loveleopardprint · 09/10/2014 21:16

Unfortunately I don't do Twitter or Facebook but I will write to the head office.

I'd go back to the store on a busy Saturday, ask to speak to the manager and ask them why they are calling you a liar. But then I like a bit of a fight Wink when I am in the right.

Loveleopardprint · 09/10/2014 21:29

I wish I was feisty like u Mrs Chicken but I am crap at confrontation!

I would write to Head Office and address the letter to somebody senior. Look on the Corporate website and get the name of the CEO and write to them.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 09/10/2014 22:19

Tbf you might of lost them.

Loveleopardprint · 09/10/2014 22:29

I keep racking my brain but I took the massive bag straight to the car. I looked as soon as I got home and they weren't there. I have thoroughly checked the car. I might have lost them but I honestly believe they were not in there.

I once went back into Selfridges to tell them they hadn't put the bracelet ring earrings and jewelled headpiece set in my bag. (Sisters prom outfit accessories many years ago when we all chipped in to buy her what she needed) The sales assistant vaguely recalled finding some stuff after the store had closed and as I had the receipt they replaced everything without comment. About 4 months afterwards I was clearing rubbish out of the back of the car and found it all tucked in the seat pocket. Blush I can only assume that my nephew had rooted through everything and put them there as ds was too young and I vaguely recall dh taking him somewhere for his brother. I donated it all to a charity shop who were thrilled to receive brand new fancy stuff. They put it out the next day in a locked box in the window. I would've taken it back but didn't fancy the 80 mile round trip so this seemed like a good compromise.
