To think Mulder and Scully are terrible FBI agents? (lighthearted)

I'm re-watching the X Files for the first time in years and it's just occurred to me that Mulder and Scully are actually a bit shit at their jobs.

Both of them are victimised on a regular basis (how many times was Scully kidnapped or held hostage again?), they rack up huge bills for the FBI and they rarely call for back up when they need it.

Then there's the fact that there are several occasions where they don't actually solve anything!

Okay, okay I admit I was inspired by this but thinking about my re-watch I actually see where they're coming from with that.

Also Scully had the memory of a goldfish.

By the end of an episode she would have seen something incredible eg. alien spaceship, stretchy man. Then next week she had forgotten about it and was all super sceptical again.

YANBU.

You know who else sucks! That Fletcher woman in murder she wrote, DS sat and watched it when we were in hospital and he was disgusted. She's not a policewoman! She's all over crime scenes! How does she get away with this! She touched the evidence, Mum!

DH and I were looking forward to watching X Files with him when he's older. But given what you've just said being bang on the money, no doubt he'll think the same as you.

Tombs is creepy as though.

She didn't believe in what she saw in front of her on a weekly basis. But she happily believed in what she'd never seen (ie, God).

Of the two, she was definitely the least rational.

But they're so good looking! That's the important bit, right?

They never had a camera or tape recorder.
