Just been swimmkng and dd is without her two remaining dives sticks!
We just put them on the side while she was swimming and they went.
She had her floaty jacket nicked twice too.
Dd1 has lost bits of uniform too which never come back.
Honestly, if you know it's not yours then don't take or keep it, simple.

I'm guessing you've checked with the pool in case someone thought they were for general use and returned them to the pool staff?
Our pool always has a range of items lying round the sides that actually belong to the pool so I could see how people could get confused. Obviously, if that's not the case then YANBU to be pissed off.

No. I had a look around and nobody had it (not many there) so they were obviously taken home.
They had her name on too.
It just annoys me as they are clearly a child's and not there's either!!

Is it something to do with pools? I've lost loads of stuff at our local pool, including half my tankini... who on earth takes half a tankini??

FreeSpirit89 · 04/10/2014 17:22

It is the pools I'm afraid. Things are always going missing there our local pool has several lockers which keys are always taken home. X

I have one of those net bags with a zip that you use in the washing machine for socks. I always put the water toys in it and leave it on the side when we are not using them and so far other people have kept their hands off as it clearly looks like it belongs to someone.

I used to go to a posh gym (pre children when I had money!) and when I returned from the pool someone had nicked my nice fluffy towel so I was leftdripping in the changing room and had to ask a cleaner if she could get me a towel. And in the same place some lovely person stole my brand new bottle of shower gel so it's not just public pools it happens at.

Fuckers!
She cried all the way home, she's 3 a loved her "purple dive stick" I've dispatched my mother to lo at the cR boot!
I have a net bag I'll try that maybe with a big "hands orf" sign!

sorry to miss the point, but what's a dive stick? Blush

Yanbu just today I was sat on my sofa and a grown man with his child decided he liked the look of my solar lights in my front hedge so decided he was going to walk off with them Shock I promptly chased him down the street and he told me he thought it was rubbish in my hedge and he was disposing of it for me! He has now broken them and I'm still angry Hmm.
School uniform is also a bug bear. My dd's new cardigan with her name and my mobile number sawn in has vanished.

We lost a full set of dive sticks on holiday once. They were in a bag at the side of the pool, right by the end of our sunbed, but were taken.

2 days later I saw a boy playing with them - I didn't say anything just went up and took them back. Cue an angry father chasing me back to the sunbed. I said "they aren't your sons, they belong to my daughter" he ranted and raved about how they WERE his and how he DID buy them and bring them with him - until I asked him his sons name. He said XXX and I replied "So why did you write YYY on the bottoms then, and just HOW did you manage to do it in MY handwriting? Grin

He was quite cross as he skulked away...

TheSkiingGardener · 04/10/2014 19:19

We've had 2 dive sticks taken too. Complete fuckers that do this, as though they don't know they belong to someone!
