To think this offer from Center Parcs is not enough

Center Parcs holiday, I discovered after the first night that the waterproof protective sheet under the cotton sheet had a massive URINE stain on. I complained, they came and changed all the bedding and I emailed them to complain again when I got home and they've offered me 75 off my next holiday!

AIBU to think this is paltry? I slept in a bed that had someone elses urine on, ok it was on the waterproof sheet, under the cotton sheet, their excuse is that "sometimes we get substandard linen back from the laundry supplier" This sheet had definitely not been washed, it had hair on it, they simply didn't notice it had been pissed on and only changed the top sheet.

Should I just accept it happened and get over it or should they do more?

I think you should have had money off this holiday not the next one, who says your gonna want to go with them again after this.

ChickOnaMission · 30/09/2014 11:02

I'm definitely not in a hurry to go back. Urgh!!

''I slept in a bed that had someone elses urine on''

Definitely offer this up to them as your proposed title for your Trip Advisor review. See what occurs.

The 75 quid should at least be cash!

A friend of mine had an appalling time and her daughter actually broke her arm on a broken bed there. She got £25 off her next holiday. Shock

LadyLuck10 · 30/09/2014 11:12

I think ask for it in cash unless you want to actually go back?

Littledidsheknow · 30/09/2014 11:13

What a cheek! We had something similar with BA who after cancelling our flight and not telling us sent us £30 flight vouchers.
DH phoned them up, fuming, and they then sent proper compensation (we had to take a long taxi ride to our destination in Italy when we eventually got there, as it was too late to take the train).
Companies often do this to see what they can get away with. They will likely give you better compensation if you get back in touch.
A voucher for your next holiday with them is completely unacceptable.

Whoopsadazy · 30/09/2014 11:24

I don't think the amount is terrible but I would have expected it as a partial refund rather than a partial credit.

Deduct the amount from the cost of your holiday and tell them that is what they have just lost in repeat business.

My mam and dad complained of a smelly cabin and got £300 off their next holiday which we took the next year in a lovely clean cabin. I'd ask for more, if I were you.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 30/09/2014 12:02

I think it's an opening offer.

We had problems with our last holiday there (numerous little things that added up, not a big thing like urine on bedding).

We were offered restaurant vouchers (we were still there) which I declined as I was unwell (not their problem) so it was upped to £100 off our next holiday. As we're regular visitors, that was perfectly acceptable to us Smile.

I think you're unlikely to get anything other than a discount off a future holiday though (push for more) it's a shame they didn't give you vouchers or something while you were still there as they obviously were aware of the issue as they had to change the bedding.

I second fluffyraggies's suggestion. I've never been to Centre Parcs (I don't like American spellings in this country and this is Britain) so can't really give an opinion on their 'holidays'.

Having to sleep, as the OP said, on someone else's dried urine is totally unacceptable.

ChickOnaMission · 30/09/2014 12:50

I've emailed them with a polite reply saying it's not good enough and use fluffyraggies suggestion. I also have photos so it would look awful on trip advisor!

Thanks ladies :-)

They offer against the next holiday all the time...so they are not in fact loosing out or you gaining anything really.

Ask them for what you actual want and perhaps post this on their facebook page...I find that works!
