to finish a contract and be paid for it?

I have just left a 9 month contract (supposed to finish mid Oct) but ended early on 30th. I found a new job so gave 1 week notice as required. so left last Tuesday.
my boss told me I'd be paid until today as I has applied for the perm version of my job but even though I'd done the job and was the best qualified for it I wasn't going to get an interview. so if I withdrew they pay me to Friday (today) OK I thought
but today my agency have refused my 5 day week.
wtf to do?
aibu if you ask me to withdraw and offer to pay me for 3 extra days you can't not???

I was confused by your post, it is not clear who offered to pay you until today, you say it was your boss but you then introduce an agency.
Can you explain the situation a lot more clearly.

Also confused - you'd applied for a permanent role at one place but instead of staying there till mid-oct (which presumably would've helped you get an interview), you left to go elsewhere, and then were surprised to not get an interview? I know you have to follow the work - I'm freelance too - but seems a strange way to play it. Too confused to comment on the pay situation, sorry. Details not quite clear as to what was agreed but not delivered.
