Just that really, I fancy a specific meal from my local rotisserie but don't want to look stupid going by myself, DH can't come as he would have the DCs, DP is working and I don't really have many friends less that would be avalible short notice.

Yes,and regularly do so. There's no shame in it.

rainbowinmyroom · 23/09/2014 17:51

Yes. Bring your tablet or a book.

formerbabe · 23/09/2014 17:51

I would...but I'd take a magazine or kindle with me.

MrsWinnibago · 23/09/2014 17:52

Oh yes definitely. When I work away in London I always do. I LOVE it. I like eating in hotels alone and in restaurants and cafes. I take a book and stare at everyone!

I frequently eat out alone.
A book or the iPad make perfect company between courses.

whois · 23/09/2014 17:53

Yea and do. Take a book or iPad or something if you'd rather read. Sometimes I'll like to read and other times I like to people watch. Sometimes I like to sit up at the kitchen area thing if it's a restaurant with an open kitchen as that's quite fun.

Marmiteandjamislush · 23/09/2014 17:54

I love it. I must be very brazen though 'cos I just people watch. Reading a book at the table seems unnatural to me.

Marmiteandjamislush · 23/09/2014 17:56

Have you confused what dp means OP?

BackforGood · 23/09/2014 17:57

Only if I were away somewhere, on my own.
At home, I'd sort out babysitters and go with dh - far more pleasurable than going to a restaurant on your own.

Insanityismymiddlename · 23/09/2014 17:57

Long story Marmite and Chaseface just run with it ;-)

smokeandglitter · 23/09/2014 17:57

Yes, I tuck myself away in a corner and read my book when alone.

Is DP parent if husband has children? Just being nosy.

BackforGood · 23/09/2014 17:58

I presume in the OP she is referring to a 'dear parent' as she already has a dh Wink

Ipigglemustdie · 23/09/2014 17:58

Dp and Dh?...........

gordyslovesheep · 23/09/2014 17:59

Yes - I would and I do :)

Iggi999 · 23/09/2014 18:00

You know no one will care about the restaurant thing till we have pulled apart your domestic set up!! Grin

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2014 18:00

OP are you Tilda Swinton??

KnackeredMuchly · 23/09/2014 18:04

Do it! They might think you're a critic and be extra nice to you Grin

Insanityismymiddlename · 23/09/2014 18:06

I have a husband and a partner, just to clear that up, all very confusing and a long story but it works for us.

Normally I wouldn't go to a restaurant by myself but I am having issues with food at the moment so can physically only eat if I fancy something in particular, normally not an issue as I make sure I shop for most eventualities but I haven't the correct ingredients or patience to cook today

OP posts:
Sp1rals · 23/09/2014 18:09

Hmm, is this really about going to a restaurant on your own?

FindoGask · 23/09/2014 18:12

I have been to restaurants on my own! I take a book sometimes, but just as often I don't. It's ace - a real treat.

Insanityismymiddlename · 23/09/2014 18:13

I do have a few unread books on my bookshelf just worried people will think I'm strange eating on my own

OP posts:
Icedfinger · 23/09/2014 18:14

A husband and a partner? Sod the restaurant, we need to know more!

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2014 18:14

I don't think anyone will think you're strange! Take your book and enjoy your dinner Smile .

francisdrakehasleprosy · 23/09/2014 18:14

Love going to a restaurant on my own. The coffee tastes so much better. The wine tastes so much better. The company tastes so much better.
