I am pg and I have a horrid pain like cramps in a upside down T shape going between my breasts and across my abdomen.

Absolutely no advice, but just happen to be up and in pain (nothing serious) myself so didn't want to read and run.

Poor you, feeling ill in the middle of the night, esp when pregnant, is no fun at all.

Hope you feel better soon Spacebound and that it's nothing serious.

Do you have anyone with you?

Stewedcoot · 23/09/2014 02:53

an adult I mean

Whippet81 · 23/09/2014 02:58

Have you got the number for maternity triage at your hospital? There will be someone there to answer give them a call.

It could be indigestion - it can be really painful and distressing.

Let us know you're ok.

Spaceboundeminem · 23/09/2014 02:58

Thanks stewedcoot sorry you are in pain as well. I have left dh asleep as he has early work. So it's just me.

I remember a pain like that in one of my pregnancies. It was kind of zinging and sharp, like lightening. Wasn't a miscarriage, just my body adjusting itself I think.

Have you had a c-section? You can get pain from adhesions (internal scar tissue).

I'm up in pain too, it is grim isn't it?

Spaceboundeminem · 23/09/2014 03:03

Thanks all it is horrid. I'm sorry so many of us are in pain. No csec yet, hopefully this one will follow suit Grin.

If you are burping a lot you could try drinking hot water and then walking up and downstairs (can't you tell I'm not a medical practictioner?? Grin) That might take care of any indigestion. Might be good to seek medical advice if it doesn't settle within an hour or so though.

Sorry you are in pain too Fafoutis

It's somehow worse in the middle of the night isn't it?

Stewedcoot · 23/09/2014 08:37

Hope everyone is OK this morning!

Was everything oK in the end Spacebound?

Spaceboundeminem · 23/09/2014 10:40

Well I haven't bled but still in pain I saw the nurse this morning for bloods and she said to see gp. So I'll phone in the morning for a appointment. Thanks for asking.

Hope the gp is able to reassure you that all is well Space; good luck with the appt.

CrazyTypeOfIndifference · 23/09/2014 13:17

In that area it sounds more like indigestion to me.

I had terrible pain in my first pregnancy (fairly early on) and was sent into hospital. It turned out to just be 'one of those things' - muscles stretching maybe, possibly trapped wind, perhaps nerve compression.

No one could tell me what it was, they could only tell me that the baby was fine at the minute and to come back if it got worse. It did go eventually, after a few weeks but was concerning at the time.

Just don't panic about it, it could be any of a number of things and not serious.

Balaboosta · 23/09/2014 14:04

Without ruling out more serious problems which I know nothing about, I have found that the muscles between the ribs (intercostals) are prone to cramp, began when pg and never went away. Doubles me over from time to time if I strain too much putting on socks or reaching down to get dressed after swimming in cold water. Are the muscles hard and crampy? Sounds horrid by the way...
