Fuck me, that sounds awful. Not from a festive family myself, and a much loved relative died on Christmas eve making it a difficult time emotionally. Every year the Christmas stuff starts earlier, meaning my Mum gets reminded of losing her own Mum for longer and longer. Yuck.

YANBU. I say that as someone who has done most of my Christmas shopping. Plan, squirrel presents away, make Christmas cake and prepare your booze. But, do not put decorations up in September! Madness!

Misstiredbuthappy it's some illuminated xmas tree which has a clock type thing flashing how many days till xmas and it's hanging up in their front garden!!

Same on fb with the stupid how many sleeps to go etc, it just ruins the excitement for when it's actually time to get excited!!
