On the bus on Friday I found an envelope - it was a business reply envelope addressed to the Council Tax department of the local Council. It was sealed up and looked like it had been handled, rather than all crisp and unused.
There is a post box near to my stop, so I took the envelope and posted it when I got off the bus. My thinking at the time was that it would be likely to be important, and might cause the sender problems if it did not arrive at its destination in good time.
But I have been having doubts - what if the sender didn't want it posted?
Would you have
a) Posted the letter?
b) Opened it to try to return it to the sender?
c) Handed it in to the bus driver?
d) Ignored it as not your problem?
