Reason for asking is I have just read an magazine article where a woman reckons she lost 3 stone in a month from a hunger strike. I don't think this can be true as she doesn't look massive to start with

A stone in a month, after going back to work after my second child was born. It was purely down to eating significantly less.

LilacCroc · 14/09/2014 16:05

Half a stone, without changing what I eat OR exercising. Really.

16:8 plan has been a Godsend for me, I've lost 1.5 stone so far and not changed my diet at all (or exercised, but I'm planning on starting)

Betrayedbutsurvived · 14/09/2014 16:07

A stone, but there was some serious trauma going on and I didn't eat.

MrsMoon76 · 14/09/2014 16:07

2 stone by doing one of those shake diets - and it all came back on afterwards (and brought some friends).

I have seen someone drop 3 stone in a month through trauma and shock because she couldn't eat. Its possible but not a healthy thing.

Triooooooooooo · 14/09/2014 16:17

I lost half a stone in a week last year whilstwe were on holiday. We'd gone all inclusive but the heat put me off my food so I was snacking and drinking tons of water whilst walking round a lot in the heatso sweating lots

I was the envy of my fatclub that week. GrinGrin

bigmouthstrikesagain · 14/09/2014 16:21

Not sure exactly how much I lost but it was well over a stone in a few weeks - I did have to get double pneumonia and be hospitalised though - living on a diet of soup and fruit as I threw up so much - it was horrible. hth

LynetteScavo · 14/09/2014 16:24

Probably 5lb.

When I loose weight it doesn't go back on for a few years, though.

The first month of doing the 5:2 diet I lost 22 lbs. have lost 70 lbs in 4.5 months, 3.5 of those were doing the 5:2 and the past month just eating well. 5:2 was great for shifting the bulk of it though! I only have a stone and half left till goal, thinking about going back to the 5:2 to shift it quicker.

revealall · 14/09/2014 16:30

I dropped 2 dress sizes in a month after I was dumped and had to move out of our house.
Oddly I thought I was eating more ( moved back in with feeder mum) but the weight dropped off. Mostly because I was so sad food wasn't interesting I guess.

Sweetasstevia · 14/09/2014 16:39

My weight fluctuates so much I can be 13lbs 6 first thing in the morning and 13 10lbs by the end of the day. So much of it is water so I try not to be too concerned by the scale - I'm also very tall (almost 6ft). I had bronchitis a few weeks back and I lost about 10lbs in 3 days!

SquirrelWearingATrilby · 14/09/2014 16:44

When I did WW I lost 7 lb the first week then 4 lb every week for about 6 weeks. They advised I eat more as the weight was just dropping off me. Far too quickly.

Then I went to France, filled the car with cheese, pate & wine and I quickly put the weight back on. And a side effect of my daily medicines is weight gain. :(

TheHandmadeStaleBread · 14/09/2014 16:44

15lbs, but I had to contract a nasty case of campylobacter to achieve that. I would not recommend...

Methe · 14/09/2014 16:46

A lost 18lb in 5 weeks low carbing.

Unfortunately, I love bread, potatoes and rice so it's not a diet I can cope with long term.

LosingAllTheLego · 14/09/2014 17:21

About a stone. And I'll lose the same in a month now. Down to cutting out gluten this time and eating unprocessed food as a result because it's a ball ache trying to shop gluten free!

Will definitely be sustainable as I'll never be able to have gluten.

Nectarines · 14/09/2014 17:28

I lost 2.5 stone in just under a month. I had undiagnosed type 1 diabetes and my body was literally starving as I had no insulin to use energy from food. Was very poorly and eventually hospitalised. Since then, I only regained a stone of it but that's probably because I have to be so conscious of what I eat now.

EnchanciaAnthem · 14/09/2014 17:29

I've lost 20lbs since 18th July, very low fat diet and feel super for it. Grin most I've lost when trying.

KitCat26 · 14/09/2014 21:42

A stone and a half from having gastric flu for 6 weeks in total. It was truly truly horrendous and weight I couldn't afford to lose at the time.

Smilesandpiles · 14/09/2014 21:45

A stone and a half. Dropped 3 dress sizes.

Shock, abandonment, shit hitting the fan big style...not recommended.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 14/09/2014 21:49

about 1 and a half - 2 stone. I had severe tonsillitis and couldn't eat, could barely drink and was throwing up all the time from painkillers. I was very ill though.

Bonanzoid · 14/09/2014 21:58

2 stone but I'm a big lass

TheHoundsBitch · 14/09/2014 22:02

I have just lost a stone in 19 days. I did the cabbage soup diet for 7 days then very low calorie for the rest.

Thisvehicleisreversing · 14/09/2014 22:47

I lost 10 lb in a week once. I was bridesmaid for my best friend and had tried my dress on with just 1 week to go till the wedding and couldn't get the zip up. I ate nothing but salad and tuna and drank only water. Thank fuck the dress did up on the day.

the wedding breakfast and cake meant I had put it all back on by that night
