if I kick up a fuss about this Facebook content?

Or is it just a waste of time?

I live abroad so use Facebook all the time to keep in touch with friends and family back home. We have a general election coming up here soon. I keep getting 'suggested posts' in my news feed which I don't appear to be able to get rid of from the 'fuck off back to where you come from' party'. Which is inevitably accompanied by a load of anti immigrant shit. As an immigrant I don't want to be faced with this every time I log in.

So AIBU (or rather AIWastingMyTime) complaining about it?

Do you access fb on your mobile or computer.
I have managed to manage my ads and suggested content on the computer. Not sure if it is possible on the mobile though.

You can click next to it I think, there should be an X, It will ask you why you want to hide the post and you can go from there.

This might not be available on the app.

I use both. But I'm also technically illiterate, although willing to try if someone can direct me.

The X to hide is there on posts from people but not on the ones suggested by Facebook.

You can manage the ad settings.

Go to settings and there is an option for ads in the pannel on the left hand side. Might help, not done it through that as I always manage through the adverts on the right hand side of my news feed.

Sometimes FB uses a V instead of an X on suggested posts.

LiverpoolLou · 14/09/2014 11:40

I think I may have managed to get rid of them. Thank you very much.

Hide posts by clicking 'i don't want to see this' when asked why you can give feedback if you want.
