To be a bit jealous of Rapunzel?

I've just put Tangled on the try and entertain my 4 year old while I settle my screaming 8 month old DD. She has been screaming for most of the day.

I know poor Rapunzel gets kidnapped and locked in a tower for 18 years but right now I am just so jealous of all the free time she has! Just think of the sleep she could get. I could easily sleep for the next 18 years right now!

I'm jealous of her hair...

HouseBaelish · 13/09/2014 18:44

I'm jealous that she gets Flynn Ryder - he's smoking

TheImprobableGirl · 13/09/2014 18:46

But then Flynn rider is obviously a bit fantastical as his real name is Eugene.... Hmm

ScrambledeggLDCcakeBOAK · 13/09/2014 19:22

I want to cut her hair off

sorry I may be slightly jealous

backbystealth · 13/09/2014 19:52

I would LOVE to live in a tower on my own. As long as I had wine, cheese, avocados, smoked salmon, olives, a Kindle, an iPad, cashmere bed socks, ummm....

Mumraathenoisylion · 13/09/2014 19:56

I am also jealous of her hair...I think it's called a rapunzel complex...3 lots of extensions and I've finally realised hair grows so I can probably just grow it myself.

YANBU in any way.

I like her chameleon he seems good company for a long stretch in a tower

Mandatorymongoose · 13/09/2014 21:12

I'm jealous too Grin .

Tangled is the only film DS will watch so I have ample opportunity to dream of a peaceful tower while a toddler shouts 'horse' at me repeatedly.

ILovedYouYesterday · 13/09/2014 21:53

I know what you mean!

I remember watching Big Brother when my DC were that age and feeling so so jealous when the commentator said "It's 10am and all the contestants are still asleep!"

mostlyconfused · 13/09/2014 22:03

Maybe it could be the next big thing in holiday resorts. Isolated towers for parents to escape to

I've got Rapunzel from Tangled at the front (and back) of my wishlist. Really like the film and her!! Grin

I just watched this today with my 3 year old. I found it quite disturbing especially as DD couldn't understand that her "mother" was actually a witch and asked "but what happened to her mummy?" when she fell out the window.
The whole "old crone jealous of young girl, sapping her youth" discourse was also troubling. And poor Rapunzel dealing with a "mother" with a serious personality disorder.
I've probably taken this way too seriously but still, the messages are there whether we read them overtly or not.
