What disgusting thread? But glad to hear so much has been raised. I would have but I am broke.

I didn't see that thread so assume it's been deleted? That's grand news though - shows there are some lovely people in this world.

Wow! What a brilliant amount.

Stupid question alert: aside from the obvious (food, blankets, vet care, temp accommodation) what will the money be used for? I am assuming insurance will cover the rebuild/repair costs of the home. Will that money be specifically for putting right the effects of the fire or will it be put into the home's general donations pot? (Not that i object either way- its all good)

There's 150 injured dogs apparently, so I'm guessing vets bills will be the most pressing expense.

I think it will allow for a larger and better equipped centre to be built.

MDH is also the pound for three local authorities, so at times of the year they are overflowing, even with capacity for the 400 already in place.

However, until it is rebuilt then maybe donations to smaller rescues might be in order as they are the ones going to be hit by more requests to take in dogs while MDH is out of action, even partially.

DiaDuit · 12/09/2014 19:00

Yes thats what i was wondering, if the money might be shared between those picking up the slack.
