to think this salesman was beyond pushy?

So I'm getting a new bathroom, I needed to go food shopping this morning and it's in a large retail park.

I thought I'd just have a browse just to get an idea of what I'd like, so I looked in the window at the displays - when one of the salesmen walks out of the store (comments on my tan [confused) and then asks me to have a look inside.

I have a look downstairs, was about to go upstairs when he stopped me and said - do you have any questions? I politely said no not at the moment, he then followed me upstairs.

Left me alone for a couple of minutes then again came over and told me what beautiful furniture they have and again did I have any questions. I again told him no and that I wouldn't make a final decision today because my partner was not with me. He insisted and giving me a brochure and then went through the entire brochure and showed me all the bathroom ranges and then gave me his number so that when I've decided which I wanted I can call him.

Ok I get that it's his job but aibu to think this was beyond pushy?

He was a bit pushy but if I understand it right most sales men/women get paid on commission only, perhaps he was falling short of his quota and desperately needed to get things up to speed?

Wouldn't take it to heart

Yes, it is pushy, but why did you let him go through an entire brochure? You could, at any point, have told him that you did not want to go through it or that you didn't have time. Your silence was as good as encouragement.
