To take an antihistamine

Loving the return of the good weather but with it come allergies.

For some reason it's got much worse, my eyes are killing me my nose is constantly streaming and I'm having trouble sleeping.

I really could use an antihistamine but I'm still breastfeeding.

Baby is 10 months old and has 4 feeds a day.

Can I get away with taking one? Or is it really going to harm him. he was born full term, weighs just over 9kgs / 20 pounds and is generally healthy

(I'm always bemused at why people don't just Google things rather than take longer to type out a post.)

It's fine! I took antihistamines when preg and bfeeding. Certain ones are recommended ad ok for whilst feeding.

My allergies have gone mad the past few days, itchy mouth, sneezy, runny eyes. Don't suffer op take them!

Yup, they're grand. See also:

(loads of health professionals sadly know cock-all about medication and breastfeeding and just go by whatever's in the manufacturer's guidelines, which is invariably "no")
