To think I shouldn't have to collect this parcel?

I ordered a parcel from Amazon last Friday and took advantage of their next day delivery service.

Parcel did not show up on Saturday and when I looked at the parcel tracking it advised that it was scheduled for redelivery. I wasn't aware it would have to be signed for and thought it could be popped through the letterbox (it was just a couple of topiary balls for my DP's fish tank).

So anyway, rescheduled for Monday. I stayed in all day Monday (was off sick from work anyway but not the point). Nothing.

Checked tracking once again and it said "delivered and signed for".

Rang up Parcel Force and advised them of the situation, he promised he would call me back, took telephone number etc.

6 hours later no phone call, Rang them back and was once again told I would be called back. Yup, you guessed it, no phone call!

Called back again yesterday and was told that they had spoken to the driver who confirmed they had delivered to the wrong house. Someone by the name of J King signed for it (DP reckons this is JoKing?!).

Anyway the driver said she would go back and collect it and redeliver to me. She rang me up whilst she was outside the property and said there was no answer but that I should pop over and try and gain a response.

I paid for this delivery service, and god knows what undesirable I am going to meet at the door (happens to be a rough area). Am I being Reasonable to tell them they must sort this out?!

Sorry it was so long

YANBU unless its next door!

Itsjustmeagain · 03/09/2014 11:31

we lost a parcel due to amazon delivering to the wrong house and they just sent us another.

odyssey2001 · 03/09/2014 11:35

Contact Amazon. Let them deal with it.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 03/09/2014 11:37

Contact Amazon. They'll just send you out a replacement order.

AlexVause82 · 03/09/2014 11:39

Oh ok I will contact them.

Its not next door lol but it is only a short walk up the road. But as said, they could be rough and I don't feel comfortable putting myself in that position when they have blatantly stolen the parcel

YANBU. I would ring Amazon customer services. You paid for delivery, it was the parcel delivery services fault they wrongly delivered it, and they should put it right!

Subhuman · 03/09/2014 11:42

Your contract is with Amazon. Their contract is with Parcel Force. Tell Amazon and let them deal with it.

TakeMeUpTheNorthMountain · 03/09/2014 11:42

Amazon will sort you and redeliver a new order.

Don't ever deal with a carrier yourself, get onto customer care it's what we are here go!

NoodleOodle · 03/09/2014 11:46

Yanbu, I'd be mighty disappointed with that situation.

AlexVause82 · 03/09/2014 11:54

Currently on phone to Amazon!
