A friend has invited us ( me, dh and kids) round this afternoon- so kids ( she's got a little boy) can all play in the garden. She said she will sort tea for all of us, I asked if she wanted me to bring anything, she said no. So far so good.

Trouble is, I'm a vegetarian ( hate the taste of meat, no other reason), but don't think she knows. Now I don't know what to do! Ask her what she's making for tea- rude. Not eat what I'm given- rude. She is busy enough to have to cater for me especially.
I love the family and would hate to come across rude and ungrateful!

Sure just a friendly txt will do the trick. Just say something along the lines of "sorry dont mean to sound ungreatful for you making us tea but just wasnt sure if you knew I am a veggie? Can bring something if a problem"

Just double checking that you know I'm a vegetarian, it's honestly no hassle for me to bring something over if it's easier. Really looking forward to this afternoon, see you later .....

I'd rather you said.
Just in case she's going to a lot of trouble/extra shopping trip.
