To be bloody fed up with nits?

Dd has the most beautiful, long , thick hair but always gets nits. That means I do too! I'm not cutting her stunning hair and she won't let me but they make me feel gross. Fed up with combing etc too.

Put a tablespoon of tea tree oil into a large bottle of shampoo, that she uses, it repels the nits.

You don't need to cut off someone's hair to treat nits

Are you sure you are treating them effectively?

If you are talk to the school as no chld should be having nits on a regular basis so some parent somewhere is not treating the infestation

Take garlic suppliments. Nits hate it.

DS had nits for almost a year. Nothing I did would work. I ended up mixing easy garlic with olive oil and leaving on for about two hours. Worked. And they never came back.

Neem oil is also really good but it stinks.

some people just seem to be nit magnets. 3 dc's one of them gets them all the time the other two in close contact but never seem to. you have to try everything to be honest because different things work for different people. we have the nitty gritty comb and I do DC's hair with it every single day. also when I find them I use the solutions and wash bedding, put ted in the freezer along with the combs etc. tried the garlic, and tea tree oil but no luck. currently fingers crossed nit free but back to school next week and I bet DC comes home with them yet again.

I've been battling the bastards all summer. Especially DD1 with very thick almost uncombable hair. I will try these tips.

Feeling your pain OP. We used to have the same problem with DD when she was going through primary school particularly.

We spent an absolute fortune on treatments but found the best repellent to be tea tree oil and a Neem oil conditioner that we used to buy from the Co-op pharmacy; she never got them again after we started washing her hair with this stuff.

They seem to be super nits this year. Normally i comb with a nitty gritty for a few weeks and that gets rid of them but it hasn't worked this time. I ended up putting lyclear overnight treatment on in defeat 2 days ago. Full Marks is total shite. The little bastards were still alive after an hour!

Be sure to wash all the bedclothes on hot and dry on high if possible. It kills the nits and eggs.

I used to find that using conditioner on the kids hair used to help, I'd comb through the conditioned hair with the nit comb every couple of days.

I kept getting nits in school, we'd try everything but some parents just weren't treating them and what worked for me was straightening my hair every day. I think I must have burnt all the eggs dead and after one last application of lyclear they never returned!
