Talked into getting new phone and contract by existing supplier 3. It's an OK cheap reasonable smartphone (sony Xperia) even though I am having problems with loss of signal in my house due to 'upgrading in my area'.

New phone arrives. Try to transfer contacts and need my pc to do this. Switch on PC - no internet signal. Try Bluetooth, not having it needs PC.

Try to download app from Playstore which will let me get texts and calls via my wireless connection in my nuclear bunker house.

Need to log in with google password. All passwords stored on PC. Switch PC back on but it's 'stuck' downloading a lot of updates which it can't access because no internet signal.

Waiting for 3 to call me back re loss of signal in house for over 24 hours..........CALL ME YOU BASTARDS!

why is my bloody ipad getting an internet signal and not my PC?. I'm in the same room ffs.

Am I alone in this?

Can you do control alt delete and access the task manager to try and stop the update programmes from running so you can get on to sort out the internet signal?

I think (no expert) if your Wifi is working on your phone then it is likely to be the way your PC is configured that means it is not responding.

I'm sure it's the pc. It's old and the signal is intermittent (normal okish) so I think it's the wireless aspect of the pc needing a dongle. Need a new pc I think. Finally got to passwords and none listed for google acc. So need to set up new one one phone and the PHONE HAS NO SIGNAL!

Maybe try bottom of garden. maybe bury tech with the dog
