not wanting to commit to a baby name just yet?

Supposed to be going away in Jan with DP and his family for his mums birthday...

they are wanting to book flights now but need a name for our yet to be born DC3.

AIBU in not wanting to pick a name now?! I have barely had time to think and can't we just amend the booking anyway? I am aware there may be a fee and would pay this obviously?

YANBU, just amend the booking when DC arrives.

Yanbu. I'd just put baby surname down and change it later. When is your baby due? Could you delay booking?

Is your due date well before the flight? I'm more worried about your trying to cope with a tiny baby on the holiday.

I don't know what usually happens, it seems unreasonable to me that you have to commit to a baby name for this reason. Phone the airline & ask them? Presumably the baby will need a passport as well.

Also, how can you choose a name if you don't know what sex it is. (Not everyone does)

You don't have to choose a name yet. You can just put baby passmethewineplease and then amend once baby is here. We had a holiday booked pre our little boy being born and he was just Baby MrsJ12 until he was born. We also didn't have to pay for the name amend as it's quite a common issue

I'm 30 weeks, baby due on 24th October, we fly end of Jan!

I'm a bit stressed about it all actually but DPs mum assures me it will all be OK and that they'll help with the DC.

I'll need a holiday to get over this holiday!

I have the same due date as you! 10 week's is lots of time, like you I have no set ideas about names, I couldn't imagine having to rush that decision for the sake of a booking.

I wouldn't even give your most likely/favorite name I'd just say baby and then amend.
