Friend came for tea, arrived at 7 seeming half cut... He said he'd had 2 pints at lunchs and 2 after work. He struggled on first attempt to park on my driveway. Not impressed.

I wouldn't say it "isn't on" I'd say it was illegal.

specialsubject · 15/08/2014 21:40

don't let him drive off. He calls a taxi and come back for his car tomorrow.

if he refuses, call the cops.

donotfretmylove · 15/08/2014 21:41

Would 2 pints at say 12 and 2 at 5.30 make a man be over the limit?

It's illegal, but more to the point it's dangerous and selfish. Hide his car keys and call him a cab home so that he doesn't end up hurting anyone with his twattish behaviour.

RJnomore · 15/08/2014 21:41

Two pints at lunch best scenario - four units finished drinking by one, out of system by five..

Straight to pub two pints, one out of system by 7 so still possibly technically under the limit...

But HIGHLY unlikely and twattish behaviour. Not to mention most likely illegal and putting other people at danger.

Did you say something?

donotfretmylove · 15/08/2014 21:41

Don't worry special hes snoring on my sofa.

Two pints of what and what time does he finish work?

At 7pm the two pints from lunch aren't likely to be in his blood stream anymore.

donotfretmylove · 15/08/2014 21:42

RJ I mostly certainly did. Twat, not you, him.

If he only had 2 pints at lunch and then 2 after work I'll eat my hat. My ex used to say things like that. More like 3 pints and a large whiskey.

Is this your bf/dp?

IsThisOneTaken · 15/08/2014 21:46

I would say then, unless he's drinking something strong he may well be under the limit. If he started drinking at 5 and it was weak lager for example.

But if he's 'half cut' it sounds like he's one of those people who is affected more by alcohol.... And therefore shouldn't be driving.

Glad you said something.

IsThisOneTaken · 15/08/2014 21:46

And YY to what youthe said.

donotfretmylove · 15/08/2014 21:48

Beer I think.

OP posts:
RJnomore · 15/08/2014 21:49

?ell done do not.

It does totally depend on what he is drinking, his body frame and metabolism etc as to whether he would be over the legal limit but, he does need help surely this is not normal behaviour for most people these days.

Let him sober up and then have a proper conversation with him.

I err on thensid elf caution and do not drive if I have had anything at all to drink. The law does allownyounto drink something and immnot going to be sanctimonious(especially as I'm enjoying some wine tonight -with no driving at all planned tomorrow) but he's just either not thinking straight or alternatively doesn't realise?

RJnomore · 15/08/2014 21:50

Btw two pints of normal lager tips most people into very questionable legal territory...two pints of premium (peroni ) or super lager definitely tips them over...but the two hours if he finished at five may just have been enough to clear him.

But it's gamble all the way.

donotfretmylove · 15/08/2014 21:51

Me too RJ, i dont drink and drive at all for a few reasons, small frame, find alcohol can effect me differently on different occassions, terrified of consequences etc

I'm with lynette my exact thoughts word for word

specialsubject · 16/08/2014 11:03
