Had a quick look and couldn't see this anywhere so,

Robin Williams’s grieving daughter has been forced to quit Twitter and Instagram after online trolls bullied and taunted her over her father’s suicide. Zelda Williams, 25, said she was “shaking” after she was sent a mortuary photograph said to show her father’s body, which was actually a picture taken several years ago of another man who died from asphyxiation and bore a passing resemblance to the actor. The Twitter users who sent her the pictures and verbally abused her have now been suspended by the social networking site.

How can such awful things have so little consequences? I wouldn't dream of sending a photo like that to my worst enemy!

I thought it was possible to prosecute people for malicious communications or something like that? That kid that sent horrible messages about Tom Daly's dad was arrested wasn't he?

Being a prick isn't a crime. What would you have happen?

In the UK it would be a crime, in the USA they have real freedom of speech so wouldn't be.

The thing is you can ban someone from social media but all they need to do to sign up again is a different email address.

I'm sure if your anonymity could be removed in situations like this then then people wouldn't be so quick to be a 'prick'. But other than that I'm not really sure, but suspending them isn't enough.

Mmm the press here in this country are quite as capable of demanding pictures of children who had been involved in tragic events and if rebuffed threatening to pick them off fb and publish them anyway.

People can be disgusting and vile.
