To think that the most inappropriate word is

"inappropriate".
It seems to be used increasingly for almost anything that people don't like. It hints at some sort of dark 'goings on', but without being more specific it's difficult to judge whether the word itself is appropriate to the situation or not.

I was told by a dance mum that a man had dared to enter the dance school, and that it was totally inappropriate.. Can you imagine.

It covers a multitude of things and tells you nothing.
It reminds me of unprofessional.
