My son has broken mine. I've got £40 worth of Argos vouchers so could buy there.

Would like compact enough for window still. DAB too.

So confused and really should be studying but this is good distraction!

Bought mine from Argos - uses batteries or a plug.

Lifesalemon · 11/08/2014 19:23

Roberts solar powered DAB would be great for a windowsill. More than £40 but its a great radio and you would never need to buy batteries.

smallblackcat · 11/08/2014 19:38

I've a Pure One Mini, I bloody love it. You have to buy a battery separately if you want to move it around the house without a lead. It's small enough for a windowsill.

goingloombandcrazy · 11/08/2014 22:41

Thank you will check both out!

Roberts solar looks good but £££. How long you had yours?

Looking a pure on John Lewis just missed battery offer I think. Can't find them on site though!

Not argos but I got a gorgeous john lewis one for about £30 for my kitchen. It comes in loads of colours and there's a bigger version too. There is a fuschia or teal version with flowers stencilled on - looks as nice as a Roberts or pure but much cheaper. Sound is great too.

AppleAndMelon · 11/08/2014 23:38

Just been through this. Take a look at the Amazon ratings and look at the low star reviews - there are some technical problems with some the Roberts and negative feedback for some of the Pure cases (turn sticky in heat).

I think mist averaged about 10% poor ratings - so look for fewer than that.

To be honest we haven't had the roberts very long. It was the solar power feature that made our minds up which to buy but it has been best radio we have had up to now.

gordyslovesheep · 12/08/2014 10:05

Yes I got a bright orange John Lewis one for my mum for Christmas - she loves it - it was not expensive

sourdrawers · 12/08/2014 10:15

I bought a Sandstrom radio from Comet, £40 ish black. Very happy with it. I needed an internet radio as the signal here is so shit. Great sound quality. I can play my MP3 player on it, it also has traditional radio reception. Thoroughly recommend.

AppleAndMelon · 12/08/2014 11:00

Went for Roberts Duologic in the end - not a brilliant sound, but it's OK for news etc.

goingloombandcrazy · 12/08/2014 14:51

Thank everyone. I went for the solar DAB2. Although some reviews poor its coming from John Lewis so 2 year guarantee in case of problems.

I really just want it on kitchen window with minimal running costs so the fact it can charge its battery via solar or mains is fab.

Is still however have £20 out of £40 of argos vouchers which need using by 28th....and no idea what to spend it on!

Cheers everyone

Buy anything with your vouchers and then return it. You will then have'fresh' vouchers and more time to think about what you could spend them on.

goingloombandcrazy · 12/08/2014 22:02

Thank you.I did think about doing that!
