AIBU that I didn't let my friends children dip their biscuits in my tea? I think my friend thought I was mean, I don't even let my own

I would have made them a cup to dip in if they wanted to dip.

I don't like sweet tea, so I make 2 cups, one for dipping and one for drinking Grin

Oooh they do Evans! In fact, I might have to go and see if I can re-prove the point Grin

I'm not supposed to eat much sweet stuff anymore either - but lately I've been slipping. I really, really don't do 'occasionally' I'm an all or nothing kind of girl Blush

I would dip a rock-hard canticcino in my coffee, but nothing that might drop crumbs, and never anything in tea.

I'm one of those disgusting people that dips toast in coffee - but tea would be horrible. Black coffee with toast and jam. Caught the habit in France where you have to dunk the baguette from the day before to make it palatable.

Don't knock it till you've tried it!

But no - no-one else should dunk anything in your own cup of tea (or coffee)!

In my 'hollow legs' days when I could eat what I wanted and still be a size eight I used to love dipping a Snickers Marathon or a Mars bar in my tea.

No YANBU , no-one dips anything in my tea and lives to tell the tale .

The Australians do a version of dunking a biscuit similar to our Penguin (can't remember the name of it at the mo, I'm sure someone will know what I mean). You bite off two adjacent corners, then dunk it in your tea and suck hard, until the tea comes out (like using a straw) melting the chocolate filling on the way. I did try it, and was lovely (but a bit messy).

Ooh, I hope someone comes on to tell me the name of that biscuit before I go to bed, it's going to annoy me all night otherwise. Hmm

Just remembered - Tim Tam!! The art is known as the Tim Tam Slam
