To have offered my sniffing boss a tissue?

My boss was sniffing very loudly and obviously all day. It was bloody annoying. Eventually I asked her nicely if she would like a tissue and held over my tissue box. The way she looked at me you would have thought I had offered here a shit on a plate. AIBU? I just wanted the sniffing to stop.

For info she does not have hay fever or any awful medical condition causing her to sniff.

YANBU. Sniffers are the worst.

tissue or fork in the eye
her choice

KillmeNow · 04/08/2014 18:55

I would have done exactly the same.

I cant stand sniffing and would have said as much as I passed over the box.

Wolfiefan · 04/08/2014 18:55

Offer a tissue or decapitate. The only two way to deal with sniffers!

WitchWay · 04/08/2014 18:55

Next time offer her an actual shit on a plate - the smell would put her off sniffing for sure Grin

I hate sniffers. YANBU. I couldn't cope with that all day!

HappySeaTurtles · 04/08/2014 19:27

Yes, I'm never sure on what the etiquette on these things are. I would have done the same. I hate when people sniff, cough, chew loudly, or any other weird "head noise" the human body can concoct.

I do offer gum to people with bad breath, when they refuse I just tell them they have bad breath and to take a piece. :)

YANBU. It is v annoying to be around someone doing that all day long. Will be interesting to see if she is as sniffy tomorrow after your kind offer.

TheCraicDealer · 04/08/2014 19:50

Put my hands up- I'm a sniffer. If someone offered me a tissue if blow my nose though, and feel bad I'd been pissing them off. YANBU.

Her sniffing continued after I had made my kind offer......thick skinned that lady!

I have hayfever and so can often sniff away without realising I'm doing it. I'm constantly worried I'm annoying other people but would always be pleased if someone offered a tissue-chances are I've been doing it subconsciously & didn't know I was being a PITA!
