To want to be in the sun?

I know that the sun is dangerous but as long as I slaver dd and I I factor 50, drink water and put hats on, I just love being out in it.
Most of my family do not get this at all and spend much time sitting indoors, seeking shade and moaning on about the heat.
I took dd to an open air pool ths afternoon. She came bk tired but mostly due to the fact that she didn't get to sleep til late due to being hot and excited about hols.
I got tut tutted by my dad for keeping her in the sun all afternoon when she was loving the pool whilst being covered in factor 50 from 2.30pm ( not midday.) I'm embracing the heat although I know it's awful for some.

It's been overcast all day and is now raining here! YANBU.

Buttercup27 · 26/07/2014 18:43

Personally I would have made her and myself for that matter wear a t shirt in the pool for extra protection but no you're YANBU

I burn just thinking about sunshine but YANBU. It's good for kids to be out in it. As long as they are well protected then it's fine. We always just wore a giant white baggy tshirt when we were kids so we didn't burn but didn't overheat.

I'm like you with the sun, I love it. But I get so scared about putting my little lads out in it so sadly I've spent this last week sat indoors and missing out on all of this:(

bleurghblah · 26/07/2014 18:46

YABU. It's horribly hot. I am heavily pregnant though so that MIGHT be marring my judgment slightly....

Meglet · 26/07/2014 18:54

Yanbu. Luckily mine are old enough to know when it's too hot and lurk inside the house to cool down.

I on the other hand have to be prised off the patio.

Yanbu at all. And I guess there were 100s of other kids at the pool having fun too.
