GAS SAFETY CHECK...to think it shouldnt be this hard for them to provide a decent service

Ive been in my HA flat for 20 years and ive always more than put myself out for the annual gas safety check.
The HA and the ppl they contract it out too.....hmmm not so much.
We have had 4 no shows (one of which time was because he was shagging a tenant opposite) and 2 almost no shows which only turned up when I phoned the HA at 5 pm asking where the hell they were. One safety check engineer actually told me that they were short staffed so if he got behind he just wouldn't have turned up.
Last year was another no show from them on the first appointment. (and this was a different contractor they were using) On the second appointment it started to run late again, I phoned YET AGAIN asking where they were and they said they wernt coming out. Then they turned up at 8pm when I was cooking dinner and I had to stop because the boiler is next to the cooker.

Seems OK for the tenant to get fucked around though

Mine send out a letter with an appointment, I ring up to rearrange and they turn up for the original appointment anyway, then moan at me that I wasn't in!
They have even been known to make appointments without consulting me first then moan again when I am not there!

THe gas safety check engineer turned up first thing on the 22nd July even though as soon as I received the appointment letter 2 weeks ago I cancelled the original appointment they made and changed it to the 28th. They sent a text on the 21st at 3 mins to 8pm reminding me of this (should have been cancelled) appointment so I phoned and told them it had been cancelled and changed to the 28th. They assured me YET AGAIN that it was changed to the 28th yet I have a letter from them which came at the beginning of last week with the newer date of the 28th on.

And the bloke still turned up on the 22nd But he said he would come back on the 28th.

Last years fucking around that they did is in the above post.. Im sick and tired of being bullied and fucked around by these useless arseholes.

And lo and behold we have received a letter this morning where they have made another appointment to come on the 31st July. So I now have had 3 letters from these twonks. The one dated the 22 July (which was cancelled on the 9th) The one dated the 28th which is when they are supposed to be coming. And the one dated 31 July saying "We have been advised that the gas engineer was not able to complete the gas safety check as ARRANGED (I cancelled it weeks ago FFS and rebooked for the 28th. And we are supposed to trust these people with boiler safety.

YY Jesse the appointments for the 22nd and the 31st were made without consulting me first. THey are fucking useless.

We were supposed to have ours on Monday. They refused to narrow it down to a time other than "between 12-5". I said that was fine, but to avoid 3pm as I'd be out doing the school run..... bloke turned up at 14.53 just as I was walking out the door. Fuck sake.

Its just not good enough is it Saucy. I used to work for a tv shop/electrical hire company and the engineers had a 2 hour time frame and the engineers/delivery drivers from despatch always gave the customers a two hour time frame. This would frequently involve them going to a customers home and assembling a full home entertainment centre ...tv video/DVD recorder and music centre and speakers etc etc. This was the days before mp3 iPods etc. If THEY can do it a bloody gas check company can FFS!

Got another reminder text from them last night at 7.22pm to remind me of todays PM appointment. Still waiting but they have till 5pm so we shall see.

He turned up about half an hour ago after I gave them a dressing down about poor customer service on the phone. Why does it have to be this hard every year.
