It will be fine up there! Air will be cooler!

FunkyBoldRibena · 19/07/2014 21:50

You can still get a b&b, if the weather doesn't clear up.

isseywithcats · 19/07/2014 21:57

actually the camping site is attached to a youth hostel so yes a room inside is an option but just praying that it will dry up by tomorrow lunchtime when we set off ah well one way or another will make the most of it and enjoy the scenery anyway lol

In all likelihood you will be absolutely find. Better to go after the storm than before it ...

Happy camping!

Just take lots of bin liners and if you have it large plastic sheeting and wellies of course. If you got it all with you, you probably won't need it ...

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 19/07/2014 22:11

Whereabouts? We're in Kendal and weather's not too bad at the moment. You'll be fine with decent equipment. If not, it's a good excuse to snuggle up in the tent with wine and new man Grin

GreeboOgg · 19/07/2014 22:14

Oh, hope the weather stays good for you! I'm off up there this coming weekend, but staying at my Grans rather than camping this time. Might stay out a night on the fells with the dog if the weather holds up.

A couple of dry changes of clothes in a bin bag or two, at the bottom of your rucksack is best. You can cope with wet when moving around I find, but no matter how warm it is it's horrible to sit about wet once you've pitched!

If all else fails, there's still a good few BnB, pubs etc., with rooms to let at the moment.

ATruth aye most of my family are taking the piss as for once west cumbria is drier and sunnier than where I am for the most Grin

isseywithcats · 19/07/2014 22:20

we are going to borrowdale near keswick and thank you for letting me know the weather is better there than here in west yorkshire

GreeboOgg · 19/07/2014 22:30

I'm staying just a skip due west of Borrowdale and the family have been telling me it's been lovely the past few days (as a warning, I'm also in Yorkshire so it's possible they were lying to me, as it's usually me telling them how nice and sunny it is 'this far south').

Andrewofgg · 19/07/2014 23:13

And when you get home - if you make it - pack the camping gear into the car and dump it. Camping is the devil's idea of a good joke.

OhBabyLilyMunster · 19/07/2014 23:17

Dry and warm in cumbria tonight!

isseywithcats · 19/07/2014 23:25

:) well i had better go bed up for work at 6am before we set off :(

I camped in Keswick a few years ago. It rained lots but still had an awesome time. Camping is what you make it. Enjoy :)
