She goes nowhere without a packed lunch of fruit kebabs and vegetable animals in matching Cath Kidston picnic boxes.*

AIBU to found this funny? Sometimes she has a pinch of sense in her rants.. I can safely say I don't own anything Cath Kidston and what the hell is a vegetable animal or fruit kebab

Well, I am a mumsnet mun, teacher with 2 children 11 and 13.
We have planned:
DD guide camp (no input necessary other than drop off @ mini bus)
I week for whole family in Lake District

NOTHING else and I am very pleased.
We will CHILL (after Wednesday that is).

In my defence after last years shocker i'm determined to survive and not end up the way I did last year. The plan in loose terms is to get them out each day and spend as little as possible So I can come on here in September and brag about how I only spent an extra 50p and a bag of midget gems during the whole summer

I have a printed timetable of mostly free summer activities which I'm constantly updating in readiness for the end of term. I have a Cath Kidston bag. We will be taking packed lunches out with us everyday.

In my defence it is because I've got 6 weeks with minimal cash and 2 under 5s to entertain on my own.

Tbh when we go on holiday im the All Inclusive Parent.. I'm going on holiday to relax and do nothing minus the alcohol as I don't drink though

Genuine question as my little one is 8 months old and my husband and I will both return to work full time...
I know it's a long way off but what happens to kids during holidays when both parents work?!?

Probably bits of fruit on a stick, don't you think? But all those things sound quite nice (except the bragging, perhaps). Are we supposed to despise SAHMs who make an effort to entertain their DC in the school holidays, and if so, why? Are WOHMs equally to be despised for bringing a picnic lunch on a museum visit, or if not, why not? Which bits aren't any of us supposed to do? Is yon woman secretly a bit intimidated by mothers doing these fairly innocuous things, to the extent that she has to slag them off in an article? Maybe she should put her pen down and go and watch some butterflies hatching for a change. It's quite therapeutic.

She's just so lazy. Those dull stereotypes will have taken moments to cobble together.

Fruit kebabs: chopped fruit, skewered. My DC love them and it's a great way of getting them to eat lots of fruit.

No idea about the veg animals and certainly no schedule (but may have one or two Cath Kidson items!!! Am I bad?

ohh fruit kebabs is a fave of my son..yes fruit on skewers...Great way to encourage him to eat fruit...however our trips out will be an easy peel orange and a Haven character lunchbox.

I have no interest in the woman but she clearly doesn't say what she does for her kids...Oh yes nothing.

Hmmm well that'll be interesting given husband's not allowed to take annual leave at certain times, and that we have no grandparents within 150 miles

Love that only the working mum has to worry about who's minding her dcs, while the man just whistles off to work in the morning.
