AIBU to think M&S have lost the plot over their camisoles

A few years ago I bought the perfect cami from M&S (product 4186 175 if you're interested), cool and floaty, and just the right length to meet the top of my jeans, for wearing under light flimsy tops on hot days.

Now I need another one, but the nearest equivalent is this. It's much longer, and more clingy - not great for hot days - and has a silly bow on the front. In fact all of their camisoles now seem to hang about 2 inches below the belt of my jeans, which might be fine for longer tops, but I don't wear many of those. Shorter tops suit me better. I'm resorting to taking the long cami up with the sewing machine, but it seems a bit of an oversight on the part of M&S not to do a short version.

Anyone got any suggestions of where to buy an alternative?

Maybe you've shrunk in the intervening few years and they are, in fact, the same length they always were?

Iffy2014 · 18/07/2014 12:03

Couldn't you tuck the cami into your jeans?

ILoveTIFFANY · 18/07/2014 12:06

I can't get upset over this.... I'm tall so I'm thankful they are providing the extra inches for us longer in body!

It's fashion. A few years back all t shirts stopped at the waist. Now they are all longer. I bought a vest top in primark last week and it come to my thighs. Not quite what I wanted but might be useful as a base layer in the winter

People like me are always complaining that M and S tops aren't long enough. They aren't. Perhaps they are finally listening to their customers.

Sorry but get over yourself. Just because you want a short version doesn't mean everyone else does. At least you have the option of shortening it if you want. The rest of us who would rather hip to waist length can't exactly add extra fabric on!

M & S have total form for discontinuing anything half decent not to mention of being out of stock of anything in your size. Their website is the worst on the net. Why can't they get their act together. YANBU.

YABU sorry, but you can shorten/fold under/tuck in if it is too long. It is not quite so easy to lengthen a top that is too short.

I usually find that most vests, blouses and 'ladies fit t-shirts give everyone views of my flabby tummy if I so much as raise my arms or dare to sit down. I'm not even especially tall or long in the torso.. must be the boobs Grin

Next do some shorter vest tops in their Petite range OP, worth a look as quality and price is comparable with M&S

I can't say whether you're BU or not (maybe a bit unreasonable), but I'm tall so I need tops to be longer. So this makes me happy, as usually tops reach just below my waist (before they immediately ride up) if I'm lucky.
