Really tired but I can't go to bed because OldDessertCat (hes 10) is refusing to come in. Shall I just lock the door and leave him out there? He is sitting on top of the shed like Lord Muck.

(FYI my last thread on this crafty feline was when he settled himself on the bed and I wasn't able to move)

Is he doing that thing where he just looks at you with almost a smirk? My neighbour spends ages trying to get her cat in and it just looks at her like she's stupid. Its face cracks me up.

Sarsaparillajones · 14/07/2014 22:20

Lock him out but make sure you have earplugs and a will of steel! My old boy used to climb onto the roof (we slept in the attic) and scratch the skylight until DH snapped and let him in.

The noise of cat claws on glass is not conducive to a good nights sleep.

Alternatively get a cat flap?

EatDessertFirst · 14/07/2014 22:21

Exactly that Sienna. And he keeps getting up like he MIGHT jump down then sits back down again and washes his ears.

I'm being mugged off aren't I? Dammit!!

We are renting so no chance of a cat flap Sad.

He never used to be this stubborn. I think he is getting cranky in his old age. Not that I'd ever dare say it to his face.

Will he not succumb to the lure do Dreamies?

MinkyWinky · 14/07/2014 22:26

Of Dreamies... Not do.

EatDessertFirst · 14/07/2014 22:28

They upset his tender cat tummy and make him throw up Hmm. He is such a Diva!

He finally deigned to come down and come in. Slowly though obviously!

It's a warm night. He'll be fine. Go to bed. And if he's a but miffed hopefully he'll have learnt his lesson and come gone with his tail between his legs tomorrow..:)

SiennaBlake · 14/07/2014 22:31

Ah he's a tease isn't he! I can't wait til I can get a cat aaaah!

MinkyWinky · 14/07/2014 22:31

Yay! I was about to suggest chicken... Now get into bed and take up the most room possible before he beats you to it Grin

Gennz · 14/07/2014 22:32

Heh. We recently renovated our house and the catdoor had to be removed. Now we spend our days as doormen to Lady Muck. Sometimes we waits at the glass door, paws at it to be let in, then we open it and she waits a bit, gives us a "nahhhh" look and saunters off Angry

She's also taken to biting me on the ankle when she's decided it's time to get up in the morning. She is a madam.

SecretNutellaFix · 14/07/2014 22:37

rattle the cat treats

SecretNutellaFix · 14/07/2014 22:39

Sainsbury's did some really nice fish treats- brand is called Thrive. They also do a chicken one.

My cats used to rip the skin off my hand if they thought I was deliberately withholding them.

Deathraystare · 14/07/2014 22:48

You will have to stay up then until his lordship decides to come in, won't you, stupid human? (possibly written by a cat..)

Deathraystare · 14/07/2014 22:49

Oops! Should have read your last post (stupid Cat).
