To Ditch HRT Patches For Pills

Posting here for traffic as need to get this sorted.

I had a partial hysterectomy 5 years ago, age 39. Ovaries left in, but no longer working. I've been on HRT patches for around 3 years. But the skin irritation is getting worse. Have tried pretty much all of them. Plus, I am on a dose of 150 and these patches (which my skin tolerated at first) comes in 50s. So I have 3 patches on at a time which means 3 x the irritation. I also read that if the skin is becoming irritated underneath the patch it won't be working properly anyway (and I do feel this is the case).

I am thinking about asking my GP about to switching to tablets. Has anyone done this/anyone take tablets instead of patches? I have read about a nasal spray too, but not sure if it's been discontinued. Then there's the gel...

Many thanks,

Ha

I had gels for a while and I hated them. Switched to pills and it's so much better. Double prescription charge though as it's oestrogen and progesterone!

I wouldn't need progesterone, due to having no uterus.
