To ask if anybody's visited a psychic?

I am just wondering, as I went to a psychic night and I didn't feel it was very good, as anyone ever had a positive experience? Or is it a load of rubbish? :)

I have been to see Derren Brown. He's exceptionally good. At least he has the decency to explain that it is all trickery and not prey on the vulnerable.

There was a great story recently, about one of these charlatans, who asked audience members to submit photos of people who had died. One woman misunderstood and provided a photo of her younger self. The psychic tried to give a reading, passing messages on from this "dead" person, before the guest explained that it was her!

My mom dragged me to countless psychics, probably hoping they'd tell me that I would eventually get married Grin. All of them were rubbish.

Then one day my friend recommended one that does readings over the phone...I called her and wrote everything down. About 80% of it has turned out true. And she didn't ask me any questions, obviously she knew my name from when I made the booking but that was it. She also seemed utterly unconcerned about getting payment.

I saw a psychic last year at the local fairground, some of the stuff he knew was so accurate it actually terrified me. He knew I'd been worrying about health problems in my family, he knew exactly what these problems were and told me there would be good news on the horizon. He was right Smile but he also told me I'd fall pregnant in February and give birth in October, still TTC! To be fair he didn't tell me which year.
I'm quite conflicted though, I saw Derren Brown last year on his most recent tour, he had a young girl on stage crying because he was apparently communicating with her dead father. Of course at no point has Derren claimed to be psychic, he claims it's all a trick but I can't help feeling he's maybe psychic after all and makes his money using reverse psychology!

I went to one a few months back with a friend and had an awful experience. she was accurate enough with her information but as soon as I left I felt very ill. I felt weak had terrible headaches and felt very depressed I went home and went to bed. I hadn't said anything to my friend as I thought she would tell me I'm being silly but she rang me the following day feeling the exact same way. she ignored it and ended up very ill and needing a strong course of antibiotics and I went to a meditation class and felt better after a week.

my friend had been having readings for ten years but after that she won't go again

That is the most ridiculous idea!

I pretended to be woo in the pub one night and gave a man a reading so accurate he was freaked out. It was pathetic, I just looked at him and made assumptions by what I could observe about him and based on personal knowledge. It is very easy to make assumptions and use a few stock phrases (which I didn't need to but charlatans do) about family loss, illness, divorce, babies and travel because all families have these occurrences.
If they are only expected to get a few things correct, it is easy street.

I had my cards read, was very sceptical but she described my life at home in scary detail.

It was as if she had been watching through cameras in my home.

She asked about ds being prem and told me the meaning of his name but not his actual name.

She also described my nana in lots of detail, down to how she iced her cakes and described a photograph of my grandad and told me his name.

I've no idea how it works, I am the only person in the uk with my name- but she didn't know my name. Not even my first name.

I have been to see a few, only one I believe was real though, she knew where and why my sister lived abroad, all about dp's sudden illness, the medication he took and the fear we were both left with. She only had my first name to book the appointment, so couldn't have looked anything up.I didn't really get anything out of it though, just confirmation of events really.

I've never been to a psychic, but I did once burn some money and read a horoscope from 20 years ago, I imagine the effect is quite the same.
