To think we will never get out of this house!

So to cut a long story short, we have sold this house twice, once last year when I was pregnant and 6 weeks ago! Both times the buyer has pulled out because of their finances. What are the chances?

Last year I was 8 months pregnant and we were due to exchange and the investor revealed she couldn't get the mortgage. Again this year, the buyer didn't even call and it took 3 weeks for our agent to get hold of them. It was off the market for a few months and went back on about 2 months ago. We have now lost our dream home and 3k in fees over the 2 sales.

So so annoyed. Sorry just needed to rant!

I'm sure when we were looking the estate agent asked to see a mortgage offer letter or proof of funds before they'd accept an offer.

I don't blame you for ranting - but maybe see if you can get the estate agent to get some proof before you engage further with anybody next time.

I think the mortgage market is in flux at the moment with all of the new rules - completions last month were the lowest for aeons....I would ask your EA to ensure that they have sight of a mortgage offer or proof of funds before you accept an offer from another party. And sympathies - it's a hideously stressful process - we lost our 'dream' house on the day we were due to exchange after our buyer pulled out, and even though we said we'd exchange if we could have a longer completion time, they refused - and had had 5 cash offers by the Monday morning. Hang in there - you will find something and sell yours eventually!

Awww OP it feels like it, but it will happen. very frustrating for you though and I know how hair-pullingly annoying it is. Sorry for you!

Hopefully it will be third time lucky for you.

its an arse isn't it. we still own our other property. had to go to our lender and get permission to let because we couldn't sell it for what we paid for it s now we shoved tenants in it and bought chain free.

When we sold our house our EA advised us to go with a slightly lower offer as the person making the higher offer didn't have his money in this country. I thought all EAs would work like this.

Thanks for the sympathies. I'm just annoyed as I'm pregnant again and really don't want to be that far along again when it's all going through!! They have had proof both times, last time she was remortgagibg and the valuation came back a lot lower than she was expecting and this time he had a mortgage in principle but it was before all of the new regulations and now he can't get it!! Just bad luck I think!
I hope you found another house permanent

I was also pregnant with our third - moved in (to a nice, but nonetheless compromise house!) 2 days before the schools application deadline - stress levels were off the chart.
