Is it just me that thinks this advert sounds like scaremongering? "Then they ROB you"

Probably not as scary as being robbed tbh. Forewarned is forearmed.

I can only assume there is a genuine increase in this type of crime to lead to this sort of information broadcast.

True ans I should point oit that I havr no knowledge of the actual issue. But the guy in the ad, the sucky teeth guy, sounds like a gossipey shit stirrer. I picture him as norris from coronation street :o

Ha ha Grin you're not wrong there!

Montybojangles · 29/06/2014 10:29

I was waiting for some sort of comedy punchline or something the first time I heard it....

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2014 10:30

Yes I think that was it. He genuinely sounded like he'd been cast as the nosey, shit stirry guy. And yet the advert ends on a "listen to him" note.

What is this advert?

StealthPolarBear · 29/06/2014 10:37

Something like

Norris: so are you looking forward to your holiday in spain?
Other guy: yes, looking forward to ths drive down through spain
n: just be careful, there are bandits out there targetting tourists
og: oh come on
n; it's true. They wait for a car with tourist stickers then they flash you, wait till you stop, thdn THEY ROB YE
og: oh great
n: so you looking forward to it
og: well I WAS
n: (at his norrisey best) mmm HMMMMMM

official voice: thieves are targetting brits in spain. Be careful.

Monty- I agree. There does appear to have been a genuine increase in this type of crime. Last year on Brittany Ferries they were broadcasting warnings as we came into Dock in Santander. They wouldn't do this for no good reason would they? It could put people off going to Spain and that's not what BFs wants is it? I understand about scaremongering tactics but to do this in this situation would be counterproductive if it's not justified. So, do be careful
