I've often pondered the noise issue and how other people don't seem bothered by the intrusiveness of it.

And how retorts from others (see above) might make me the grouchy, unreasonable one if I were inclined to let such comments get to me. Oh and there is always the poster tapping their nose wisely saying, 'you do know that he sells other stuff too...'

But I digress. OP, I agree that it is pretty fucking awful to have that racket coming up to three times a day (3 different vans, see) with volume on full. I know there are laws about the noise levels but how to prove it? Then there is the issue of old and failing engine pumping out its vile stench. So why do ice cream vans smell so much?

I'd rather have The Benny Hill tune than "If you go down to the woods today" rhyme, which sticks in your head a hell of a lot longer than the ice cream sticks to the carpet.
