To expect some sort of apology from the manager?

I found a piece of meat in a 'vegetarian' option at a local cafe. I had taken it away and didn't want to go all the way back with it so I phoned to tell them and emailed through a photo. I got an apology on the phone from one of the staff and he said he would pass on the information to his manager (who was busy at the time). I had no reply to the email. I was in again today and the manager was serving me. I asked him if he had received the message and email and he just said "oh, yes." and that was it. No apology, nothing. Should I kick up more of a fuss?

I would leave it.
After I'd written a review on TripAdvisor...

I would have expected at least a refund for the meal.

Your best bet now would probably be to vote with your feet and go elsewhere though - and tell others what happened

Hmm....not so much "kick up more of a fuss" as "should I complain further" I think it should be taken seriously.

Any time this has happened to me, I've had a freebie as a minimum.

VitoCorleone · 26/06/2014 13:15

I would.

Thanks. Yes, I should just go elsewhere. It's just the closest place and I don't get much time for lunch! Might have to start bringing packed lunch instead. Good idea about trip advisor.

Maid, I think the manager is a bit of a stingy ass. I may call over on my way home this afternoon when it's a bit quieter and say something about it again. Not to get a free meal but just to say that I don't get the impression that he's taken it seriously and I would have at least expected an acknowledgment of the email and/or an apology from him.
