WIBU to bother the doc with this?

Hi all, wonder if anyone has experience of this? Don't like bothering the doctors for no good reason, but it's worrying me a bit now.

I had the implant put in after my second was born, 18 months ago. No problems with it at all, zero bleeding. Until now. Had on and off bleeding for the last three weeks, one episode was like my usual period, other two just light spotting for 2-3 days, but I have never had this before, not on Nexplanon, or any other contraception i've been on, or off. I know Nexplanon can cause bleeding that gradually gets better, but this is the opposite?

I did breastfeed until 8 months ago- don't know if it's relevant.

Should I stop worrying or go see the doctor/ family planning?

No go and get checked out. Anything that is not normal for you is worth investigating. If not only to get piece of mind.

Go see the doc, unusual bleeding needs to be investigated.

yep really don't put this off Op. ring your GP tomorrow. so what if you are "wasting their time" getting peace of mind is never a waste of their time according to the doctors that I know.

Missda · 22/06/2014 21:15

Crap that should be peace of mind.

Hope it all does ok.

i had the implant and this happened to me too, no bleeding til 18 months (ish). i saw the doctor who said most people bleed at the start until it settles down, but its not unusual to bleed later.
he gave me the pill and said to take it everytime i bled and it would sort itself out so i wasnt constantly bleeding/spotting and it did.

Thanks everyone! Well i went. Now have a million tests to have. The doc was lovely and said it's probably hormonal and nothing to worry about but wanted to check it out anyway.

Unfortunately I can't have the pill to stop the bleeding if it is due to the implant, turns out it's the combined pill and it gives me stroke migraine :S
