Just wrote 'DS' in marker pen on the label ds's school shirt.

They are not his initials.

I have to stop myself from referring to my boyfriend as "DP" in conversation.

You are not alone.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 20/06/2014 10:11

No.
You know you're MNing too much when you wonder why everyone doesn't use the very clear and usedful abbreviations we use. Fools.

Lesshastemorespeed · 20/06/2014 10:26

All that fretting over what to name him, and now I apparently just think of him as a generic acronym. Poor child.

Unrelated to Mumsnet but similar to what the OP said. I'm a programmer, and the language I use has to have each line terminated with a ';'. Quite often after writing code I have to stop myself finishing sentences in English with a ; when writing e-mails etc!

BeanyIsPregnant · 20/06/2014 12:17

I use dd occasionally in text messages, instead of her nickname with is just two initials.. But I've also gone the other way and used her nickname on here instead of dd!

Mrsjayy · 20/06/2014 12:19

Nearly put dd in a facebook post this morning Blush

CrayolaCocaColaRocknRolla · 20/06/2014 13:08

Its okay. I was talking about DP the other day and I said "Oh me and DP went out" and they were like, "......What's DP?" Moritifed that I am spending too much time on this website. Hmm
